About Us
Innovation North is a secondary special education transition program within the Northland Learning Center Cooperative serving young adults ages 18-22 across northeastern Minnesota.
Our program is designed to support students as they prepare for life after high school by building skills in:
- Postsecondary education and training
- Employment and vocational readiness
- Community participation
- Independent living
- Recreation and Leisure
At Innovation North, students are provided meaningful, real-world opportunities to grow in confidence, independence, and self-advocacy. Our goal is to empower each student with the skills and experiences needed for a successful, independent, and fulfilling future.

Innovation North students and staff are soaking up the beauty of fall with a getaway to MIB's School Forest!
For our young adults, experiences like this are about more than sunshine, s'mores, and friendship. Students are building independence, practicing social and communication skills, and learning through meaningful, real-world experiences. A beautiful day of learning, growing, and making memories together.
